Overview
Responsibilities:
- Conduct Lightning Risk Analysis for various industries in accordance with IEC 62305-2 and NFPA780 using DEHN’s Software.
- Perform Lightning Protection Design for various industries in accordance with IEC 62305-3 and NFPA780 using tools such as Sketchup Pro, Autocad, DEHN’s Software etc.
- Perform simulations for calculating hazardous step and touch voltage hazards and designing safe earth termination systems using tools such as XGSLab advanced earthing software, as per IEEE80 guidelines
- Design adequate Surge Protection systems by incorporating the SPDs onto client’s single line diagrams.
- Conduct detailed fault calculations both manually and using the NETS module of XGSLab advanced software.
- Perform various other engineering calculations to support design work.
- Perform site surveys applying IEEE81 methods in various states which can include site inspection, certification, soil resistivity surveys and fault finding in currently installed systems.
- Assist the DEHN sales team with technical support on occasion, including customer meetings when needed.
- Conduct professional project management and detailed documentation.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work with vendors and contractors.
Qualifications for Electrical Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree (or comparable experience) in Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
- 5 – 7 years of experience working in technical engineering, application engineering or relevant construction experience.
- Prior knowledge of lightning protection would be beneficial.
- Experience in drafting, design and basic electrical calculation would be preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present in front of people and write professional emails to customers.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Candidate must be customer orientated, passionate and have a positive attitude and self-confidence.
- Open to working within a team and keeping the positive energy within the team.
- Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly.
- Technical writing skills and excellent knowledge in GD&T.
- Excellent command on 2D or 3D engineering design and manufacturing tools such as SolidWorks, Catia, Pro-E, UG, AutoCAD, SketchUP etc.
- Deep understanding of engineering analysis tools along with its application and interpretation (ANSYS, ProMechanica, SolidWorks Simulation or similar)
- Mathematical computing and analysis tools knowledge (Matlab, Excel, LabView etc)
